Philosophy and Approach

I am a trained professional counselor.  My approach to counseling is based in the belief that people are dynamic, and ever evolving toward self-actualization by identifying and getting their needs met, as well as defining meaning in their lives.  Exploring, obtaining, and healing relationships with others and self, are all primary to my approach to counseling, as I believe relationships are central to the meaning people find in their lives.

Code of Ethics

As a licensee of the Oregon State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists, I will abide by its Code of Ethics.

Education

I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Oregon State University with a clinical emphasis.  Major coursework included: clinical internship training in counseling as well as coursework in providing individual, family, and group counseling.

Continuing Education

To maintain my license, I am required by the state to participate in annual continuing education, taking classes in the subjects relevant to this profession.  I may substitute professional supervision for part of this requirement.  I will be happy to explain what that entails and how it relates to you as my client.

Fee Schedule

Fees for counseling services are $95.00 per hour of counseling.  An adjustment in fees is possible in cases of need and when discussed in advance with the counselor.
